Privacy Policy
Effective June 11, 2026
The short version
Viola collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no servers. Everything the app does happens on your device, and everything it saves stays on your device.
Camera
Viola uses the front camera to render lipstick shades on your face in real time, and the back camera to read colors from real-world objects when you use Scan a Shade. All camera processing happens locally using Apple's ARKit and on-device image processing. The camera feed is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere — it is processed frame by frame and discarded.
Photos and saved looks
When you capture a photo of a look, the image is saved inside Viola's own private app storage on your device — not to your camera roll, and not to any server. Saved looks and scanned colors are stored in a local database on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
What we don't do
- No personal information is collected or requested.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that profile you.
- No third-party advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No network connection is required to use the app.
Changes
If a future version of Viola ever changes any of the above (for example, optional cloud sync), this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly communicated in the app before anything takes effect.
