The product
Pros4Us is a two-sided marketplace for hiring licensed, background-checked contractors — from a single repair to a full renovation or ground-up build. A homeowner posts a job in a few taps; we match them with qualified local pros by trade, license class, and distance. From there everything happens in one place: chat, share photos, compare offers, hire, and run the whole project — phases, jobs, budgets, and invoices — without leaving the app. Pros get the mirror image: nearby jobs that fit their license and the work they actually do.
My role
I'm a co-founder — I built the product end to end: the marketplace app on iOS and Android (live on both stores), the real-time experience that ties homeowners and pros together, and the marketing site at pros4us.com. Product, design, and engineering.
What the app does
The depth is in how closely it maps to the way licensed contractors actually work:
- Matching that respects licensing. Pros are organized around real trade classifications and license classes — from general contractors and the specialty trades to state-licensed Professional Engineers (PE/SE) — and surfaced by distance, so you see who's genuinely nearby and qualified.
- Real-time chat, offers, and in-app calling. Talk it through, share photos and documents, and agree on a price up front — total, hourly, or per square foot — before any work starts.
- Projects, not just jobs. Break a build into phases, jobs, budgets, submittals, and invoices, and track progress and spending as it moves.
- Private or open. Post privately to your own trusted network of pros, or open the job to every qualified pro nearby — your call.
- Built for the field. License-verified profiles, business-card and document scanning, reviews, push notifications, and a fully bilingual (English / Spanish) experience.
It's live on the App Store and Google Play.
The marketing site
I also designed and built pros4us.com — the front door that turns a curious visitor into a download. Instead of a generic SaaS look, I committed to one art direction: an architect's construction document. Load-bearing typography, a choreographed hero that assembles itself into place, a pinned "how it works" sequence you scrub through, a phone that tilts toward your cursor showing the real app, and a blueprint floor plan that draws itself in — over two dozen search-optimized landing pages for the trades people actually look for. It's fast and accessible where it counts: 95+ Lighthouse on mobile across every category, zero layout shift, live on its own domain.
Truth as a constraint
Nothing about the product invents trust it hasn't earned — no fabricated stats, prices, or reviews anywhere. Licensing is described precisely: engineers are state-licensed Professional Engineers, not contractors, so the site never claims a license class that doesn't exist. In a category full of lead-gen noise, precision is the pitch.
Impact
A real business, shipped — homeowners and contractors using it today across iOS, Android, and the web. Not a concept: a product with a domain, two store listings, and users.
